Short Assured Tenancy

What is a Short Assured Tenancy?

A Short Assured Tenancy agreement is the standard form of lease for individuals under the terms of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988. It must be for a minimum of 6 months. At the end of the first six months your tenancy will continue on a month to month basis until you or the landlord choose to end it. To terminate the tenancy you must give between  4 weeks and 2 months notice in writing dependant on your lease and the landlord must give you 2 months notice.
