Property management company, Charles White Limited has recently secured factoring contracts for the management of more than 1,100 new-build properties in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth and East Lothian. These were won on the back of established and new working relationships with a range of renowned developers, such as Stewart Milne, George Wimpey, Abbotshall Homes, Burrell and Kilmartin Homes.
Established in 1840 in Edinburgh, the company believes it is the oldest of its kind in Edinburgh, specialising in development management, otherwise known as factoring, and letting services.
Committed to helping all clients negotiate the property maze, Charles White also provides an expert advisory service for housebuilders to ensure that effective management is built-in at the design stage.
Edwin Backler, managing director, explains that when it comes to properties which share common areas or facilities, it is important that a management service is in place to ensure the building is maintained to a high standard.
He says: “As a company our overriding aim is, through service excellence, to inspire complete confidence, earn total trust and sustain lasting loyalty. Property management is the heart of our business. We understand the importance of our role in enhancing developments and individual properties to maximise overall investment values, while engendering an attractive community living environment.
“We believe each client is unique and, as such, our services are tailored to each individual situation. Our experienced property management team develops strong working relationships with clients to provide unsurpassed service and peace of mind.”
With 30 property professionals, currently based in both Edinburgh and Glasgow, the company provides high-quality services to customers around the country.
Charles White provides management services throughout the residential market, working with housebuilders, such as CALA, Elphinstone Homes, Gregor Shore, Carvill, Burrell and George Wimpey.
David Hutton, operations director, adds: “Being involved from the initial design stages of a development for such renowned developers is undoubtedly advantageous as we can advise on a wide range of practical issues. The award of these contracts is testament to the trust in which we are held.”
He points out all properties under Charles White’s care are frequently inspected and efficiently administered.
David maintains: “As property managers, our responsibilities include organising maintenance and repairs to the common parts of properties; cleaning of stairs and landings, window cleaning and gardening; attending to block insurance of all properties at excellent rates; and liaising with proprietors, through a committee of resident owners, on any matters relating to the development.
“We ensure the day-to-day running of properties is as smooth as possible and that maintenance and repairs are carried out quickly and to a high standard.”
Edwin Backler concludes: “Charles White has been serving the needs of its clients for over 160 years and our reputation is built and dependent on continuing client contentment with the services
delivered."
